Maya Selva, founder of Maya Selva Cigars, has been appointed Knight of the Legion of Honor (Chevalier de la Légion d’honneur) by the President of France. Part of the July 14, 2026 promotion, this highest French order of merit recognizes her success as the founder of a premium, handmade cigar production and distribution company.
Maya Selva entered the French market in 1995, introducing handmade cigars from her father's native Honduras. Her bold vision expanded the brand inter-nationally, leading to the opening of her own Honduran factory 18 months ago. A deeply respected industry figure, she also served as Grand Master of the Confrérie Jean Nicot from 2022 until last month.
We are very proud to announce this prestigious distinction, which honors an inspiring journey.
